 Welp, I never did get around to updating the portal but I had an awesome week off. We also got another server while I was on Vacation so I've been helping Bonko and warefly setup a Dust2 server for DH. Be sure to thank them if you see them.
On another note Jack Bauer's PC is fucked up. Once he gets it repaired he'll be back. Stay in touch Jack, hope you get if fixed soon.
In the coming months it is my hope to get stuff taken care of around here and also start being online more. I will make the effort but work has been hectic lately. They're supposed to hire someone to take my spot on 2nd shift and I'm supposed to go to 1st shift. Less money but better hours and more time to work on the website. I'll keep you posted. Once this takes place I plan on changing this portal to something that is more forum friendly and also allow you to login with your account on the forums if you have one. There will also be more apps and games. The main page will also be more gamer oriented instead of death based. =p Probably slap up the ol DH logo we used to have, dunno yet. Anyhoo...
Play hard and have fun. Mow down your competition in FPS's, slay that dragon in MMRPG's but always ALWAYS have fun and respect everyone at DH. You guys run the community, I just break the back ground appz. =D

| Why the wait? |
I apologize for the long wait to get the forums up an running. I haven't been able to werk on them all that much due to all the overtime I have been pulling at werk. I'm grateful for all this overtime but some things are suffering due to my absences. I will however continue to werk on the forums but I will not open them until I feel that they are setup to a point where everyone can enjoy them. Again, I apologize for the wait.
On other news, I have been arguing with Paypal as well. They have locked my account and I am werking to have it unlocked. If they are unwilling to unlock it, then I will have no choice but to use other means for donations. Donations for the servers will be listed soon so users will be able to donate to their favorite servers.
Keep in touch and be patient. This site will be back online in the near future. I hope sometime this weekend but again I make no promises.

I had some issues at werk and at home so I wasn't really able to work on this all that much over this last weekend. I did manage to get some stuff back from our old forums. ie Ranks, Emoticons, etc...
I'm not making any promises but by next weekend [10.17.09] I should have it stable enough for everyone to login and register. This is not a promise so if it doesn't happen then don't bitch about it. |
| Forum Software |
 I have decided to use phpbb forums for our software. I fiddled around with both setups and I figure that phpbb is more secure and has more MOD's to offer. I have started installing a points system and redid some of the FX a bit for our current setup. The major reason why I decided to use phpbb instead of fusion is simply because their arcade is better. I couldn't find a decent arcade mod for fusion that also tied in with a shop and points mod.
I've been asked several times when people can login, some have even called my house. I welcome your calls, but don't ask when the forums will be open again. All I can say is soon. I appreciate the kind offers for help. If I need help then I will holler at someone. <3 Hang in there and come back often. I'll reopen the forums once I get some major admin utils installed. The fun MOD's I can still do in my free time but the admin utils are a major "Must!" before I can open it back up. |

| You can probably tell if you have been trying to login all day that some of the new website is up. I still have a lot of werk a head of me but once I get everything some what secure, I'll open up access to everyone. As for right now my email werks again so if you want to get a hold of me, you can send me an email. eljokerNOSPAM@desertedhaven.com. Just remove the NOSPAM part. ;} The forums are currently locked and no one new can login yet. I still need to install some MOD's before I reopen the gates to Hell. Besides... I'm still debating on using Fusion or phpBB for the forums. There are some noice features for Fusion however there are some missing features as well. Gimme a holler if you have a preference. |
| Web Host Sux! |
Hello DH fans. Sorry to say this, but our web host has decided to do some major updates to my current plan. While they are doing this, a lot of things no longer work at Deserted Haven. I have manage to make bakups of all of our databases, website design, and anything else that I could grab. What this means is the site will be down for sometime until I can manage to werk out the bugs. I apologize for this mess but we will be back online soon. I ask for your patience in all of this and again I do apologize for this delay. btw this has messed up my email and ftp accounts so as I try to get this set back up you can contact me through my yahoo email account. scribe.1911@yahoo.com
UPDATE :: Due to my webhost not knowing their head from their ass, we have lost our forums. This has a good side and a bad side.
Bad Side :: We have lost almost 14k posts on the forums, everyone will have to login as new, and all pictures, files, and data has been lost as well. I have it in a backed up file so I can probably re-post all the important stuff on requests only.
Good Side :: This makes it easier to renew the website. With a fresh start we can get rid of all the spam accounts, update all of our software, keep the forums clean, and install new mod's that were a pain in the ass to install before. There were a ton of posts that should have been deleted such as arguments, flames, racist remarks, etc... they are now gone. All the groups were also cluttered with old users that have been MIA for over year, now we can get an accurate list of admins.
I will keep this page updated as I fix everything. When I get the forums setup to a point, everyone can re-register on the forums.
